I bet you start loving me…

when you’re on the phone… hang up and ya call right back…

Wait, what?

Now that Ciara’s “I Bet” has been out a couple of months, you ever start singing the hook only to find yourself thinking of the hook and melody to another familiar song. There’s a reason for that says Jermaine Dupri.

The legendary hitmaker is crying foul over Ciara’s comeback track, claiming it’s a “complete rip-off” of Usher’s 2001 “U Got It Bad” classic — a song he produced.

Speaking with the Associated Press about a jury ordering “Blurred Lines” singers Robin Thicke and Pharrell to pay $7.3 million to Marvin Gaye’s children for jacking their dad’s song, Jermaine says he know what’s it like to have his work copied.

Ciara’s new single is a complete rip-off of Usher’s ‘U Got It Bad.’ I’m clear on what I made and I’m clear on how music influences people and I’m clear on chord changes and how people move things. … It might not be as evident as the ‘Blurred Lines’ situation, but I believe the same thing happened to me.

Jermaine says he’s not the only one who feels that way. Usher and “U Got It Bad” co-producer Bryan Michael Cox “immediately” noticed the similarities, too, and similarities between Ciara’s song and Tamia’s “Still,” a 2004 track Bryan and Jermaine both wrote and produced.

Luckily for Ciara and “I Bet” producers — Harmony “H-Money” Samuels and Chris “TEK” O’Ryan — Jermaine doesn’t want a check, he just wants credit, and plans to contact Ciara and the song’s producers for it.
