The Rockets on Wednesday reached agreement with the Los Angeles Clippers on a trade that will send nine-time All Star Chris Paul to the Rockets, a person with knowledge of the deal said.
The individual spoke on the condition of anonymity because the deal had not yet announced. The Vertical initially reported the agreement on the trade.

The Rockets will send guard Pat Beverley, forward Sam Dekker, guard Lou Williams and a first-round pick in 2018 to the Clippers in the deal, the individual with knowledge of the deal said. The pick is only protected if it lands in the top three picks of the draft.
In order to be traded, Paul agreed to opt-in to the final year in his contract worth $24.2 million

Paul, 32, averaged 18.1 points, 9.2 assists and five rebounds on 47.6 percent shooting last season. Like Beverley, he was named a first-team NBA All Defensive team selection on Monday.
Paul played in the backcourt with Rockets star James Harden with USA Basketball with Mike D’Antoni and assistant coach, leading all three to hope for a reunion with the Rockets.
