Popular Houston Rapper Doughbeezy Kills His Attacker In an Attempted Murder Robbery
Houston rapper Doughbeezy is recovering in the hospital after a violent home invasion which left one person dead
Around 9:20 p.m. on Tuesday evening, two male suspects approached Doughbeezy and his friend’s family which had just arrived at their home, the Houston Police Department reports. After pistol-whipping the rapper, the suspects ordered the victims to go inside the house. Doughbeezy, whose government name is Tai Carr, was able to break free and retrieve his pistol from the trunk of his car. He fired at least once at one suspect, who fled on foot. He then confronted the second suspect and fatally shot him.
Officers later found the other suspect, who was armed with a handgun, hiding in the restroom of a nearby Wendy’s. Identified as 23-year-old Marquez Romero Heckard, he faces three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of aggravated robbery.
Doughbeezy was transported to a local hospital with severe lacerations and contusions on the face. He posted a photo of his damaged face on Instagram (later deleted) along with his account of what went down.
