Jeanmard says the viewing and funeral will be Saturday at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The family is asking for donations and fundraising to pay for the funeral and George’s headstone. They have a Wells Fargo account and there are donation boxes at Mike’s Corner Store on Irving and Buford, and at Saigon Market on Grant and Pear Street. Their goal is to raise 2,500 dollars

Beaumont police have released the name and photo of a man who was gunned down today following a feud with a group of men.
Investigators say someone shot and killed 20-year-old Derrick Deron George, of Beaumont.
Police say George showed up at an EMS station at about 1 p.m. and said he’d been shot in the chest. He later died at a hospital.
Germaine Joseph Jackson, 27, is accused of killing Derrick George on Sept. 5. Jackson was booked into the Jefferson County Correctional Facility on a murder charge and is being held on a $150,000 bond.
